About

My name is Peter Dillon.  I have lived in Central Lancashire for most of my life.  I am attempting to research, gather and tell stories with social and ecological themes to act as inspiration, challenge, education and entertainment.

The landscape in which we live plays an important part in generating our sense of place.  The natural environment and the built environment compete with each other in an endless struggle.  The main photograph at the top of the site is from Longton Brickcroft, once an industrial site and now a nature reserve, emphasising how our spaces can change radically over the course of our lives.

Local residents carry the memories of this change in their stories. Part of my work is to allow the elders within the community to reminisce and reflect on the changes to their environment during their lives and the effect this shifting landscape has had upon their lives and loves.
